Adopt an Octopus
The octopus is considered one of the smartest animals on the planet thanks to its many exceptional skills, including camouflage, puzzle solving, tool use and more. There are numerous octopus species around the world, from the tiny-yet-deadly Southern blue-ringed octopus to the ear-flapping Dumbo octopus. Many of these octopus species are vulnerable to overfishing, bycatch and habitat destruction from bottom trawling and climate change.
How Your Adoption Helps Protect Octopuses: Octopuses and other marine creatures are susceptible to toxins in the water like oil and other pollution, such as bilge dumped into the ocean. Oceana works to protect marine animals such as the octopus from harm by stopping cruise ship pollution and advocating for clean, safe energy solutions. All donations go toward making our world's oceans healthier and safer, for generations to come.
